CIF Division I Champions: 1998
The Falcons move on to the Quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 2 playoffs with an away win against Redlands East Valley High School.

Things started slow for the Falcons, going down two runs after the first inning, but that was all the offense the Wildcats were able to muster as Brian Gadsby pitched a complete game, in a 7-2 win.

The Falcons got on the board in the top of the 2nd inning with a clutch two out hit from Ryan Lynch that scored Joe Torres, who reached on a hit-by-pitch.

Another clutch two out hit by Austin Brines, in the top of the 3rd inning, plated Michael Russo (who got on by legging out an infield hit), and got the Falcons level with the Wildcats.  With the score tied now you could really feel the shift in momentum.

The 4th inning began with Joe Torres reaching on an error and Nick Diaz with a 2 strike double to left field.  Lynch came up again, with an opportunity to drive in a couple of runs, and immediately jumped on the first pitch and drove it into left field, which gave the Falcons their first lead of 4-2.  The scoring was not finished in the 4th as Adrian Damla found a hole in the outfield and Lynch scored to push the lead to 3 runs.

The 5th saw the Falcons put up 2 more runs.  The first came from a hit by Nick Diaz, scoring Chase Walker. The second run came from a "special teams" play with two outs.  Diaz got in a run down between first and second while Torres broke for home.  Torres was able to score before Diaz was tagged out on the play to end the top half of the 5th.

That was all the runs Gadsby needed as he continued to keep the Wildcats off balance with defensive swings at the plate, and good defense backing him up.

The Falcons next game is Friday as they move on to the Quarterfinals.

See you at the next game!
