The Falcons season came to an end today at the hands of Norco, by a final of 4-3, in the semi-final game of the CIF playoffs.

It was definitely one that hurt.  The Falcons had their chances, but just couldn't get the timely hit to bust the game open.  There were many fine performances, but ultimately it was a season ending loss and the 2019 season is in the books.

I get an interesting view of the team from year to year taking pictures in the dugout.  This team was definitely unsure of how things were going to go this season.  The winter prep was rough.  It rained what seemed like everyday.  The season was starting three weeks earlier than it ever had, and there were some key positions to fill both on the field and from a leadership point of view.  That being said, there is something about putting on a Falcon uniform that gets things going in the right direction. This team had to grow quickly and they did.  The biggest thing I noticed was there was no give up in this group.  They always played to the last out regardless of the score.  That sounds easy, but it is not always the case.  Technically this team didn't win any titles but they definitely got the most they could out of their season, and came damn close to going all the way in the playoffs.

A team is a finite thing.  Each season is made up of a group of players that will never play with those exact same group of players again.  I love seeing those bonds grow throughout the season, but it is tough to see it all come to an end as well.  The tears always flow, which is understandable.  It is the last time that you will share the field with that group of players and it's a hard pill to swallow.  It's great winning championships, but the bonds and memories these players have created will last a lifetime.

As usual this was a fine group of gentlemen.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the dugout with you this year and can't express enough how special it is for me to have a front row seat to all the action. Good luck to the 2019 graduating class.  You will definitely be missed and have left your mark on this program.

Hopefully I haven't worn out my welcome yet, and will be around for the 2020 Falcon season.  Thank you to the coaches, players, and parents for allowing me to continue with my Falcon baseball obsession.

Enjoy the pics.

See you at the next game!
