The Falcons cruised to victory over Hoover today, in a five inning game shortened by the mercy rule, by a final of 15-0.

Obviously a lot of things went right for the Falcons today with such a lopsided victory, but the real story was Trevor Beer on the mound.  Beer struck out 13 of the total 15 batters that came to the plate, which included the first 10 batters of the game walking back to the dugout with a K.  Only two batters managed to put the ball in play both resulting in outs.  Beer did not allow any walks, or hit batters, and the Falcons did not commit an error on defense.  All those stats add up to one thing...a Perfect Game for the senior lefty!  By the way, that was all done on a paltry 53 pitches. Congratulations Trevor on an outstanding performance!!!

Offensively the Falcons scored in every inning.  The big hit of the game came from Vincent Parrott who hit one over the left-center field fence.  The ball was hit well over 500 feet...aided by rolling on the track behind the fence of course!  All joking aside, it was a well hit ball by Parrott and one he will never forget.  Parrott also had 2 hits for the game and 3 RBI's.

Brian Erickson also had 3 RBI's for the game off of 2 hits.  Brian Ghattas and Beer each had 2 hits as well.  Other RBI's came from Ghattas, Chase Smith, and Ty Langford with 2 each, and Beer and Cody Cancelosi with one each.

Falcons take on Hoover on Friday night in the return leg of the series.

See you at the next game!
