The Falcons opened up the 2018 season with a win against the visitors from Knight High School, by a final of 12-1.
It was not a typical Southen California evening, the weather was quite chilly, and so were the Falcon bats for the first three innings. The Falcons did manage to scratch out a run in the bottom of the 3rd inning without getting a hit. That changed in the bottom of the 4th when the Falcons exploded for 9 runs off of 7 hits. Cody Cancelosi had the first RBI of the game after a base hit that scored Brian Ghattas who reached on a walk. JD Schaffer, who reached on a bunt single, then scored on a wild pitch. A groundout and RBI by Chase Smith plated the next run followed by an RBI double off the right field fence by Brian Erickson. Trevor Beer and Isaac Sung were next on the RBI list. The final RBI of the game came from Jake Jilizian.
Trevor Beer kept the opposing hitters in check only allowing one run through 5 innings. Justin Parrott pitched a scoreless 6th and Ty Langford closed out the 7th.
