The Falcons improved to 7-0 in league play with a win over Burbank by a final of 3-1.
Scott Vinceri started on the mound for the Falcons and induced a number of ground balls for the defensive to gobble up. Unfortunately, the Falcons leather wasn't quite up to the challenge early on in the game, but they were able to step up as the game got into crunch time.
The Falcons also had a number of opportunities on offense as well, but similar to the issues on defense, the Falcons offense ran themselves out of innings with base running that was over zealous based on the situations that presented themselves.
The Falcons were able to get on the board in the 2nd inning when Nico Arredondo put the ball in play with the infield drawn in that scored Max Meyer. The 2nd run didn't come until the 5th inning when Anthony Russo delivered a clutch 2 out hit with the bases loaded that scored Kewin Ledesma. The final run of the game came on a hit by Will Rees that scored Arredondo in the 6th inning.
With a two run cushion heading into the 7th inning the atmosphere seem to settle down for the Falcons and Vinceri shut down the Burbank batters in order to close out the game.
