The Falcons got it done tonight, with a big win over Burroughs, by a final of 1-0.
In a nail biting pitchers duel, Ryan Lynch once again drove in the winning run, with two outs and two strikes, in the bottom of the seventh inning. Chuck Weinmann drew a two out walk, stole 2nd base, and scored on the clutch hit of the season by Lynch...leaving Burroughs on the field to witness the ensuing celebration.
Trevor Beer pitched a gem, going all seven innings and allowing only 4 hits in a shutout performance.
Drew Atherton also came up big with numerous blocked balls behind the plate, and in the defensive play of the game, a diving tag of a runner trying to score.
If you missed this game, you really missed out on an exciting event. It was a packed house at Stengel. Thanks to the community for coming out to support the Falcons...this game will not be forgotten!
